refactor: invert FATAL_CHECK logic to standard assertion style
- Inverted FATAL_CHECK macro to crash if condition is FALSE (standard assertion)
- Updated all call sites in audio, GPU, and CNN subsystems
- Updated documentation and examples
- Recorded completion in doc/COMPLETED.md
